General FAQs
SpeedSys tachometers is the collective name for the SpeedSys T10, T11, T20 and T30, which are part of the SpeedSys product line which also consists of the SpeedSys 200 & SpeedSys 300. The SpeedSys tachometers are simple speed monitors and switches with a marine type approval (DNV).
The SpeedSys T10, T11, T20 and T30 are 1-, 1-, 2- and 3-channel transmitters.
To feature flexibility and easy retrofitting SpeedSys tachometers work with the three most commonly found sensors in the field: MPU/VR, Hall effect and 3-wire voltage eddy current/proximity.
There is a difference between the single-channel units (T10 & T11) and the multichannel units (T20 & T30). These can be found in the respective datasheets.

Yes, the SpeedSys tachometers are in fact delivered with the admin level enabled and locked. Any user with the software can read and program the device.
Yes, we can reset your password remotely through a video call during which we take control of your desktop. We will use our factory/master password to login to the unit and reset the password.
The sensor cable lengths are not defined by the SpeedSys tachometer, but by the sensor, cable and application specifics and the electromagnetic environment. Have a look at the datasheet for guidance.
Ethernet cables are specifically designed to work over a maximum distance of 100 meters or 328 feet. Using single-piece cables that are longer than 100 meters can cause various issues, like reduced performance and signal loss over distance. This is especially true for older types of Ethernet cables, such as Cat5 cables, which are limited to 100 Mbps.
Yes, a configuration file can be prepared ‘off-line’ after which it can be programmed onto a powered up SpeedSys tachometer unit.
Yes, but the configuration needs to be manually exchanged between the commissioned and replacing unit. While doing this, the units can be swapped without interrupting the power.
