Impact Transmitter – IT6810
The IT6810 / IT6811 / IT6812 impact transmitters from Metrix utilize a new technology for measuring impact intensity on reciprocating machines.
Impact measurement is a proven method for detecting mechanical faults in large reciprocating compressors. The transmitter combines the benefits of this measurement with the convenience of a 4-20 mA (loop powered) output signal. The transmitter features a built-in piezoelectric crystal element and uses a timing function to determine impact intensity. The impact counter and memory are used to record impacts that exceed a pre-determined threshold.
The 4-20 mA signal represents the number of impacts exceeding the threshold within a set time, known as the reset time. Mechanical impacts are both measured and ranked within the transmitter. The result is a current proportional to the impact level.
