Flow measurement for dry bulk – Densflow
DensFlow is a measurement system specifically developed for measuring flow during pneumatic transport (dense phase) of dry bulk materials. Since the system operates using an electromagnetic field, the measurement is performed contactless and in-line.
Operation
The DensFlow operates based on a high-frequency electromagnetic field. Particles moving through this field reduce the amplitude (absorption), which generates a measurement signal corresponding to the concentration of particles moving through the pipe. Using the same principle, the speed of the particles in the pipe is determined. With concentration and speed as variables, the flow is calculated using the formula Q = K * v * A and is communicated further via a 4-20 mA signal.
Advantages and capabilities
- Reliable flow measurement in pneumatic (dense phase) transport
- No maximum measurement range
- Pressure resistant up to 25 bar (optional)
- No disruption to the flow – no obstacles
- In-line measurement
- Measurement independent of material speed
- Easy installation
- Low maintenance
- Contactless measurement with no moving mechanical parts
