One year ago, Natascha Merkel joined Istec as the Operations Manager for Germany.
Bringing a fresh perspective and valuable industry experience,she has played an important role in expanding Istec’s presence in the German market. In this interview, Natascha shares her reflections on the past year, her ambitions for Istec in Germany, and the values that drive her work.
Becoming part of Istec
“From the very first conversation, I knew this was a place where I would belong,” Natascha remembers. When her previous employer, Meggitt GmbH, known for its vibration hardware through their Vibro-Meter® brand, decided to close its operations in Germany, Natascha began exploring opportunities at Istec. Although her contact with Istec had been limited in her previous role, she quickly realized that the company’s values were a perfect match for her own.
“The culture, the products, and the dedication to service really stood out to me. Coming from Meggitt Vibrometer, where I gained a lot of experience in vibration hardware, I could immediately see how Istec’s expertise would be valuable to customers. It felt like the right move for me,” Natascha explains.
Expanding Istec’s presence in Germany
Natascha initially focused on selling Meggitt products, but her role quickly expanded to include Istec’s own solutions, such as SpeedSys® for speed monitoring and overspeed protection. “Expanding my role has allowed me to showcase the technology that makes a real difference for our customers,” she says. This growth aligns with Istec’s ambition to strengthen its presence in Germany and beyond.
Building trust and growing together
Natascha’s main goal is to establish Istec as a trusted partner in Germany, particularly in the energy and industrial sectors. “I want us to be seen as a reliable partner by OEM companies and end-users,” she says. She envisions a future where Istec products become standard components in customer machines, reflecting the company’s commitment to reliability and innovation.
Another focus on the German market is Vibro-Meter’s VM600Mk2, the advanced vibration monitoring and protection system for complex and critical rotating machinery. She highlights the important role of Istec’s service team in ensuring smooth transitions for customers. “Our service team is dedicated and makes a real difference for our clients,” she says. Natascha believes that combining advanced products with excellent service will help establish Istec’s reputation in Germany.
Finding a home at Istec and shaping the future
Natascha feels confident that joining Istec was the right decision. “Looking back, I’m so glad I chose to join Istec. I’ve found a sense of job satisfaction that I hadn’t experienced before. The team here is supportive, and the culture allows me to pursue my ambitions.”
With a growing presence in Germany, Natascha believes that Istec’s journey is just beginning. Her efforts in expanding the network, boosting sales, and building strong relationships reflect Istec’s commitment to delivering value to customers.
