Istec and Dordrecht Academy join forces to train the next generation of vibration experts

Istec has recently collaborated with the Dordrecht Academy to support the development of future vibration experts. Dordrecht Academy is a collaboration between multiple universities of applied sciences, which are Hogeschool Rotterdam, Hogeschool InHolland, and Christelijke Hogeschool Ede. They offer Associate degree programs that are in high demand in their region.

The partnership was initiated after Robbert-Jan  ‘t Hoen, a core engineering teacher at Hogeschool Rotterdam, approached Istec with a request to use the resources of the Istec Academy for their students. As part of this collaboration, students were granted full access to the Istec Vibration Training Category 1+ which covers key concepts and techniques in vibration analysis. To complement the theoretical content of the course, Istec’s COO  and VCAT-IV vibration analyst, Sander Bakker, conducted a hands-on practicum. During this session, Sander demonstrated the practical implementation of vibration measurement and analysis. His insights helped the students understand how vibration monitoring is applied in real-world industrial settings.

This collaboration is part of Istec’s broader commitment to bridging the gap between education and industry. By providing future engineers with the knowledge and practical experience they need, we aim to contribute to the development of skilled professionals who will drive innovation in the fields of speed and vibration analysis. The collaboration proved to be a success, which opens up numerous possibilities for further impactful projects.
